Outdoor stories

 MILANO DESIGN WEEK 2026 20.04 - 26.04

The outdoors is a constantly evolving narrative, marked by the seasons and shaped by the presence of those who experience it. For Milan Design Week 2026, Fast interprets this vision with Outdoor Stories, a project that combines new collections and installations in locations at the heart of the design capital, showcasing the company’s ability to interpret outdoor space as personal, mutable and capable of embracing different functions and languages.
Each location and each choice offers a distinct perspective, all rooted in the same design philosophy based on modularity, materials, and the relationship with the surrounding landscape.

Living outdoors with Fast means immersing oneself in a variety of interpretations of space, presented through different narrative chapters:

Chapter 1: Fast Milano. In Fast's house in the heart of Milan at Via Cesare Battisti 1, the new collections by designers Francesco Meda, David Lopez Quincoses, and Lievore Asociados are framed by a site-specific floral installation that introduces a naturalistic dimension as an integral part of the spatial experience. The installation on the ground floor guides visitors along the journey, transforming the natural element into a true setting for the outdoor collections and, from the moment of entry, suggesting the dialogue among nature, architecture, and design that runs through the entire exhibition.

Chapter 2:
Fast Durini. Conceived as a welcoming and meeting place, the installation on Via Durini, in the heart of the design district, houses a composition of the Unduetre modular sofa, one of the latest additions to the catalogue, flanked by a selection of furniture from the Fast collections. More than just an exhibition space, Fast Durini serves as a hub for interaction, fostering a direct dialogue between Fast and the city while helping to enliven the urban landscape.

Chapter 3
: Just a few steps from the urban landscape, the story continues in the outdoor spaces of the Salvioni Milano Durini showroom, where outdoor living combines urban social interaction with the more intimate and cozy atmosphere of a home balcony. In these spaces, architecture, function, and identity intertwine, creating contexts in which the Fast collections interact with the surrounding environment and complement every setting with formal balance, high-quality craftsmanship, and attention to detail.

The artistic direction of Francesco Meda and David Lopez Quincoces reinforces a focus on systems capable of evolving alongside the project. Aluminium, the company’s core material, offers depth, tone, and character to every space through a wide range of finishes, adapting to different contexts. Fast’s centralized production and the ability to combine structures, materials, and fabrics across the board also allow for the development of tailored configurations, ensuring technical continuity and compositional balance.

Living outdoors means embracing the pace of the seasons and the changing light. Whether in the shade of a palm tree or in the full sun of a terrace, enjoy every moment outdoors in perfect harmony with nature.

This vision of outdoor living is brought to life through a collaboration with Lievore Asociados, who created Estea. This aluminium armchair is inspired by the first rays of the sun: its soft, embracing lines evoke the light spreading from the East, slowly across the horizon, creating a sense of balance and serenity. Like the rising sun, Estea transmits warmth and harmony, transforming any space into a moment of tranquility and relaxation.
Alongside this search for harmony, there is the lightness of Stelo, designed by Francesco Meda and David Lopez Quincoces. The side table collection introduces a discreet, almost ethereal vertical element into the space: a slender metal tube that, evoking the stem of a flower, supports tops made of aluminium, porcelain stoneware, or lava stone. Vibrant chromatic research focuses precisely on lava stone, with three new gradient colours—blue, green, and orange—developed to offer a refined textural contrast to the structure.
The fluidity of the spaces finds its structural expression in Idro, the modular contract system designed by Meda and Lopez Quincoces. The name itself is a statement of identity: it evokes Lake Idro and the deep connection to the Vestone area, where the company is based in the heart of the Valle Sabbia. From dining chairs to modular sofas, the collection is capable of furnishing entire spaces dedicated to hospitality with impeccable aesthetic consistency. Finally, the Idro collection is joined by Clover. This series of bistro and side tables features more sinuous shapes, characterized by a central leg with a trilobed profile. Thanks to its simple design, Clover blends naturally into any outdoor setting, harmonizing perfectly in both residential and commercial environments.
